1. Baloney. Russia could not defeat the Mujahadeehn and has |
|
even more to lose from an aggressive movement of extremist Islamists than the US.
Russia needs the US in Afghanistan to distract the fanatical Muslims there. Russia has its own problems with overly zealous Muslims in neighboring countries and the threat of terrorism within its borders.

2. I don't know about that, even though it's logical. |

However the West made friends with the radicals in Libya and helped them overturn the government there. We also made friends earlier with Gadaffi after spending years calling HIM a terrorist. They, all of them, do what they need to do and if means dealing with former enemies, apparently they can develop amnesia, as we do.
I don't think those in charge care much about what we are told they care about. Russia and China are getting very worried about the US and Europe running around the world invading the PNAC list of countries and shutting them out each time from the contracts they had with those countries. Every country experiences terrorism, it has been blown up out of all proportion here to facilitate the new Imperial wars we are engaged in.

3. I don't agree either. Russia is very upset by the US missile defense system, and |
|
very well may use it as a bargaining tool to this Northern supply route. They may also bring up any possible attack on Iran by the US or Israel as a bargaining chip. The US has shot itself in the foot big time.

and blowing what it wants to see out of all proportion.

Russia depends on the security of this entire region.. I believe it is a Political tactic used by Russia.. Has nothing really to do with diplomacy.. The facts have come out and it was the Pakistani Military that gave the finally OK for the U.S.to engage.. The Pakistani People only know what their Government tells them.. So you put the pieces together.. I will up this and say I bet the Russian may even know more about our Military and what they are doing and may need a Political tool for leverage on this so called Missile defense by the U.S...

Times they are a changing, the time when we the US could do whatever we want, like order people in other countries around and tell them what we want, and what we like, without regards to their own interest and concerns,is just about over. The dynamics have changed radically, and just because one has the biggest guns, does not mean that others are going to cower and cave in to our demands and wishes anymore. The hand writing is on the wall,we will have to change the way we treat and interact with others,or else we are creating nothing but more trouble and problems for ourselves. If we still want to be all over the globe playing world police, then we better change,it is not the other way around. Also don't forget we helped arm and support Osama Bin Laden the Taliban, and other nefarious terrorist to help drive Russia out of Afghanistan, they could also do the same thing to us,because sometimes what goes around, comes around
