CNN posted this headline: "Trump used Juneteenth to denounce ‘nonworking holidays.’ Some political observers say it wasn’t a coincidence". CNN pretends not to know that Trump's blatant racism isn't a mystery; it's a key element of his appeal to his supporters.
Democratic Credo
We love America;
We love Americans more.
We love our country’s government, freedom, constitutional rights, natural resources, free market economy, military, our work ethic, sense of honor, generosity, pride and patriotism, our common decency and respect, our arts and culture, and mostly, the American Dream.
We love the American Dream so deeply, because America at its best, offers the possibility that anyone, from anywhere, can start with nothing but a dream, and succeed.
So we love Americans, all Americans, past, present, and future. Past Americans, like the Patriots who defied the world’s greatest power to introduce democracy and the bill of rights. Present Americans who work every day to support their families and maintain our economy. Future Americans, who come to fulfill that American Dream and add one more name to the family that is we Americans.
We love and respect working people who supply the labor that feeds the nation, provides our daily needs and makes the economy strong.
We love and respect women because they are the glue that binds our society and families together.
We love and respect children because they are our hopes and the forgers of our heritage.
We love and respect minorities because the American culture is the great mixing pot, where different peoples come together, to be assimilated but to join together in mutual respect.
We love and respect immigrants because they remind us the world is much larger than us and we need their new perspectives.
Of course, we love them as people, however, we love them more, for they are us.
We are Americans. We are all Americans, and we love them.
Do the right thing.
It's time the Catholic Church did the right thing and elected Donald Trump pope. I'd say he's even overqualified.
The fight
We're not in a political war, D v R. Nor philosophical war, left v right. We are in an interspecies war, human versus machine. Corporations are intelligent machines that use wetware (people) and software (AI) to extract as many resources from the economy as they can to perpetuate themselves as a species and enrich their owners. They are powerful because they control the government, immoral because exist to take and not to save and eternal because there is no throttle on their life. They are growing and breeding at our peril.
The Trump Doctrine
To put the Trump Doctrine into English,
"It is the responsibility of powerful nations to tend to the needs of the people of the world by assimilating their territory into the powerful nation's territory."
The US should by (take) Greenland, and Mexico, and Canada, since those countries are incapable of meeting their people's needs.
It also means Russia should have the Ukraine to help those people.
America should sell Alaska to Russia, since Russia is a better leader than the US.
China should reclaim it's lost territory for the good of the People.
Every bit of Trump's polices seem to be lock step (literally) with the goals and dreams of Putin.
What the election is about
It seems people have many ideas what the coming presidential election is about, but make no mistake about it, it is about supreme court justices. The rich and their corporations have a stacked court in their favor and it looks like some are getting too old. They need to be replaced with young judges, like Cannon, to keep their power in place. They don't care about Trump; he's a useful idiot and a perfect distraction. He will seat the judges they want. And they will do anything to get him in the White House
Working class Republicans
I overheard a diatribe that a young man was giving as I walked across my backyard. He was very upset at the Democrats in general and socialism in particular. The government was giving away his money. Our party has stopped defending the highly defensible. Social Security is the backbone for care of the elderly. It provides the care that older, poorer people need to survive as they age. I can't imagine anything crueler than dismantling Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. It would lead to the annihilation of generation of Americans and we are obligated to defend it so the right of elderly have a means to exist.
The very rich and powerful
The very rich and powerful have taken over the republican party. Now, they are trying to take over the Democratic party.
What is amazing is who's selling out.
Corporate greed versus women's lives
Sen. Bernie Sanders is demanding answers why insurance companies are charging women for contraceptive medicine when it should be provide without charge under the law under the Affordable Care Act.
Now we know why the republicans are anti-contraceptive! It costs rich and powerful corporations money and the gop must defend the right of corporations to extract as much money as possible from everyday citizens. You can’t go forcing companies to worry themselves about the lives and safety of women.
