demmiblue's JournalI'm a Former Russian TV Anchor. Fox News Mimics State TV.
One thing that is clear to me: Fox News hosts like Tucker Carlson, along with other right-wing media figures, are at times indistinguishable from the propaganda on my former network, RT, a Kremlin-funded cable news channel that eagerly uses American voices to push a pro-Russia agenda.
Among the Americans that currently host television shows on RT are a range of voices on the extreme ends of the left-right ideological spectrum. Scottie Nell Hughes, a former pro-Trump pundit on CNN and Fox News, hosts a show that claims to provide unbiased coverage, while Canadian actor William Shatner hosts a program where he uses his star power to interview other celebrities like astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Far-left journalist Chris Hedges, meanwhile, hosts a show featuring dissident voices, ostensibly dedicated to the cause of anti-imperialism, yet has failed to even mention Russias actual attempted authoritarian land grab of a democracy.
Other American voices frequently amplified on RT include former Democratic congresswoman-turned-CPAC speaker Tulsi Gabbard, libertarian politician Ron Paul, and his son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)all of whom share foreign policy positions that Russia now finds beneficial to amplify.

Lauren Boebert calls the CROWN Act "the bad hair bill."

It didn't pass.
Democrats set a vote on the bill, titled the Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair, or CROWN, Act under a fast-track process used for noncontroversial bills that required a two-thirds supermajority for passage. While the bill clinched a simple majority, 235-188, it did not meet the two-thirds threshold due to GOP opposition.
It's possible that House Democrats will bring up the bill for a vote again later, but under a process where they only need a simple majority to send it to the Senate.
Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), the bill's author, argued it's essential to formally ban hair discrimination because African Americans are often penalized under workplace and school dress code policies for having natural hairstyles such as afros, braids and cornrows.

Manchin joins with Senate GOP to block bill guaranteeing abortion access
Source: The Hill
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) joined with Senate Republicans on Monday night to oppose legislation codifying the right to an abortion.
Senators voted 46-48 to move the bill toward a debate on the Senate floor, falling short of the three-fifths vote needed to move it forward.
The bill, which passed the House last year, enshrines the right to an abortion and pushes back against state-level restrictions. The Senates failed vote comes as the Supreme Court is weighing a case that would curb Roe vs. Wade.
Sadly it looks like the Supreme Court will limit abortion rights on the coming months. Thats why the bill is essential, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said.

McCarthy criticizes GOP members who spoke at white nationalist conference: 'Unacceptable'
Source: The Hill
...
But on Monday, in a rare rebuke, McCarthy broke his silence and said Greene and Gosars participation in the conference was unacceptable.
Theres no place in our party for any of this, McCarthy told CNN.
McCarthy also said Greene should have turned around after hearing Fuentess remarks warming up the crowd before introducing her on stage, saying, with that introduction, you should have walked off stage.
The party should not be associated, any time, any place, with somebody who is antisemitic, McCarthy said.

House passes bill making lynching a federal hate crime
Source: The Hill
The House passed legislation on Monday that would classify lynching as a federal hate crime.
Lawmakers easily passed the bill, which is named after Emmett Till, a 14-year-old African American boy who was lynched in 1955, on a 422-3 vote.
While the bill sailed through with bipartisan support, three Republicans Reps. Andrew Clyde (Ga.), Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Chip Roy (Texas) voted against it.
The legislation's passage comes more than 120 years after the first federal anti-lynching legislation was introduced by then-Rep. George Henry White, who was the only Black member of Congress at that time.
