Trump's former Attorney General Bill Barr:

"I think the counts under the Espionage Act ... are solid counts ... If even half of it is true, then he's toast. It's a very detailed indictment, and it's very, very damning."

"This idea of presenting Trump as a victim here, a victim of a witch hunt, is ridiculous."

—Former Attorney General Bill Barr

People on Twitter Are Connecting a Section of Donald Trump's Indictment to a Kid Rock Interview

While the tweets are just speculation, Rock claimed in a 2022 interview that Trump showed him "maps and s---" and asked his opinion about North Korea.

The federal indictment against Donald Trump was made public on Friday (June 9), detailing charges surrounding the former president’s handling of government documents after leaving the White House.

Among the 44-page historical indictment listing the 37 felony counts against Trump was a section that caught the eye of multiple Twitter users. “In August or September 2021, at The Bedminster Club, Trump showed a representative of his political action committee who did not possess a security clearance a classified map related to a military operation,” the indictment reads, as Twitter users began speculating and connecting the statement to a 2022 interview Kid Rock had with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson.

“We’re looking at maps and s—, and I’m like, ‘Am I supposed to be in on this s—?’ Kid Rock — a longtime and outspoken supporter of Trump — told the Fox News anchor, who broke out into laughter. “I make dirty records sometimes. ‘What do you think we should do about North Korea?’ I’m like, ‘What? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this.’”

It has not been confirmed that the section of the indictment is in reference to Kid Rock.

Exclusive: Donald Trump admits on tape he didn't declassify 'secret information'

Former President Donald Trump acknowledged on tape in a 2021 meeting that he had retained “secret” military information that he had not declassified, according to a transcript of the audio recording obtained by CNN.

“As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t,” Trump says, according to the transcript.

CNN obtained the transcript of a portion of the meeting where Trump is discussing a classified Pentagon document about attacking Iran. In the audio recording, which CNN previously reported was obtained by prosecutors, Trump says that he did not declassify the document he’s referencing, according to the transcript.

Trump was indicted Thursday on seven counts in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the mishandling of classified documents. Details from the indictment have not been made public, so it unknown whether any of the seven counts refer to the recorded 2021 meeting. Still, the tape is significant because it shows that Trump had an understanding the records he had with him at Mar-a-Lago after he left the White House remained classified.

Publicly, Trump has claimed that all the documents he brought with him to his Florida residence are declassified, while he’s railed against the special counsel’s investigation as a political witch hunt attempting to interfere with his 2024 presidential campaign.

FBI agent who testified for Republicans was suspended over leaked sensitive information

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — Garret O’Boyle, an FBI agent who was presented in a public hearing by House Republicans as a whistleblower, was suspended by the bureau because internal investigators had concluded that he leaked sensitive investigative information to the right-wing group Project Veritas, according to a bureau official.

House Democrats are now accusing O'Boyle of lying to the committee and are referring the matter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, according to a letter obtained by NBC News.

Lawmakers learned about the reason for O'Boyle's suspension, which was previously unreported, in testimony that Jennifer Moore, executive assistant director of the FBI for human resources, provided to the House Judiciary Committee's Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. Portions of her testimony are included in a letter that top Democrats on the Judiciary and Weaponization panels wrote to Garland, alleging that O’Boyle lied to the committee about leaking information prior to his suspension.

In the letter, Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., and Del. Stacey Plaskett, D-Virgin Islands, detail several instances of O'Boyle, in interviews with committee staff and in the panel’s public hearing, denying that he had leaked FBI information to the media.
