A major theme of palantír usage is that while the stones show real objects or events, those using the stones had to "possess great strength of will and of mind" to direct the stone's gaze to its full capability.[T 2] The stones were an unreliable guide to action, since what was not shown could be more important than what was selectively presented. A risk lay in the fact that users with sufficient power could choose what to show and what to conceal to other stones: in The Lord of the Rings, a palantír has fallen into the Enemy's hands, making the usefulness of all other existing stones questionable.
Now t says a lot that lot of our lives are being put into question not just by an an old book, but that it is obvious the owners of Palantir did NOT understand the book. The point of that book was that devices can deceive you and be misapplied in the wrong hands. Never mind that this comes from the same story where Sauron the red mage makes "one ring to rule them all", which causes destruction. The sad thing is, these goys think they are Gandalf, but really, they are Sauron. They forget that Tolkein, a veteran off world war one, wrote this as a warning about letting too much power get into the hands of a few.

Look, I know how we feel about Monica. What we do nit want to do is get caught the "on the one hand dance" aka "whataboutism."
Monica sought out Bill for sex and celebrity? YES
Did Bill use his power to try to cover up the fact he was getting sex? YES
But There are two crimes for which both of them need to be criticized for.
Monica, you comparing yourself to YOUNG CHILDREN, who were dropped of on an island, put in dungeons, tortured, raped, and if the alleged is true, literally hunted for sport ad eaten show what an utter pig you are! You have made a load of money off that cigar, and literally changed the course of history for the worse. NOW you want to extend your 15 minutes of fame to a half hour!?
Now Bill, I do not know what you did with Epstein. Let's have Aladdin's lamp and poof, say you DID NOT HAVE SEX with any of the young ladies Epstein provided. The fact is, people knew he was a creep, who had a lot of young ladies presented in sex manner not seen since ethe days of the playboy mansion. Hell, even Hugh knew what barely legal meant, and he also had a lot off cameras in his mansion. It is one thing for an innocent rube to walk into that sort of trap, but not someone who got burned by a simple phone call the nearly cost you your neck, oh, and hurt your wife badly.
So, how do we avoid whataboutism? Simply this, by acknowledging that both facts lead to a greater truth, that America will suffer until we stop rewarding appetites of the rich and those who desperately want to be rich. Both M and B have been pilloried, and we do not want to become the society that burns people at the stake just because they are deplorable. Judge not lest ye be judged. WE can say that when they do very public penance, we can reject their deposit in the church till.

I do nto agree with the opinion, but he accidentally stumbles onto a hard truth: the enthusiasm about AI is truly the same nonsense that led charlatans to offer to be able to changed lead to gold, without really explaining all o this is supposed to work. Another aspect, is that they add math to it so it appears to be science.
